I usually follow a very straightforward process for any UX project or Product Design project. 1. Understanding - Meeting with the client for briefing and debriefing. This is where we clear out the project on both sides in order to set the correct expectations 2. Research - Together with the client we build a knowledge base of both user insights and functionalities that the product would benefit from. 3. Architecture - This is where the planning of the product starts by building the base structure. (sitemap, flows) and then the wireframes 4. UI/Visual design - After we agree on the wireframes I start designing the User Interface starting with the most important pages and decide on the visual identity of the product together with the client 5. Revisions - This is the step where we fix any problems with the visual design of the product. 5a. (optional) Prototype - This is not always a step I have time for, but if possible I try to prototype the visual model in order to offer a better understanding of the product's dynamic. 6. Handoff - After I finish the UI I prepare a document for the dev team to help them navigate and use all the elements I've built for the product. 7. Testing & Revisions - Usually there are more things that can be fixed after testing. 8. (optional) Launch and ongoing monitoring for 1 month. I try to always have a month of monitoring over freshly launched projects in order to check how the product is being used and if there are problems that I can fix.
