David Perálvarez, owner of one of the leading platforms to learn WordPress development in Spain, Silicode Valley, commissioned me to redesign the website after changing the subscription model.
As the business was moving to a more premium positioning, it needed a website that reflected the quality and up to date content of Silicode Valley.
Logo update
First step in this project was to make a logo makeover. This was not part of the brief, but in order to achieve the design goals every element on the page should be in tune with this new message of technology and quality and the current logo was not resonating.
Style options
After a careful analysis of the project requirements, I presented the client 3 possible styles that we can work with, each one could present the same message but with a different voice. Based on the branding of Silicode Valley, the cliente choose to go with a modern and colorful style for the design.
Colors and gradients
The selection of colors was made based on the current brand colors and from there I created three different gradients to use on the decorative elements and to represent the main categories of content.
Illustrations and icons
In order to present a modern and high quality image we wanted to move away from stock images, that’s why I created custom icons and illustrations for the website design.
Homepage
The homepage is the most important part of the website, because this is the place where people get to know what Silicode Valley is and what is the value it offers. That’s why I decided to create a one pager with a narrative that answers the user questions as they arrive:
¿What is Silicode Valley?
¿Why should I care about WordPress?
I already know Divi or Elementor ¿Is that enough?
¿What else should I learn to be a Pro?
¿What can Silicode Valley offer me?
¿How much does it cost?
¿Who is behind this?
