Civil War Cannon
Vector rendering of pen-and-ink drawing
I rendered this view of what looks like a 12-pound Napoleon field gun for a customer in the Gettysburg, Pennsylvania area, to be used in multiple applications.  I scanned my original pen-and ink drawing into Photoshop and then Illustrator, converting it to a vector image.

The view of the rear of the gun suggests the sense of looking out over the historic battlefield.  I thought it would be a more solemn, elegiac image than a front view of a cannon.
This is my original drawing, done with a felt-tip pen on tracing paper.
The same image after scanning into Photoshop, cleaning up and converting to a series of vector paths.
