COVID-19 Poster Series
Poster series created to communicate some Do's and Don'ts for the Covid-19 pandemic. The motifs were created using paper cutouts and afterwards edited. With the aim of creating harmony and sensible motifs, I utilised forms, elements, and colours that visually and layout-wise relate to each other.
For the ' Washing Hands' poster, I created abstracted bubbles and inside illustrated hand gestures/motions that help ensure clean hands. For the second poster, I targeted the points of the body that are responsible for receiving the infection and are to be wary and attentive of. For the ' Staying Home' poster, I used abstracted elements that symbolise the Coronavirus that are visible outside of homes to convey that the danger is outside of an individual's home and they are protected by staying inside.
In each of the posters, I wanted to use colours extracted from the original appearance of the elements. The 'Washing Hands' poster uses blue, 'Avoid Touching Face' uses a nudish pink tone for skin, 'Staying Home' uses green for the common association of the Coronavirus with the colour. The titles and subtitles were handmade with ink.
I aimed to reach outcomes that felt playful and dynamic ,and not strictly informative or formal, in hopes to feel more inviting and less intimidating to viewers. Additionally, I used mockups to show how the posters would fit in public spaces and how the motifs can be commercialised or marketed as both a spread of awareness and as an item of practical use.
