Diabetes Type 2 Self-management Mobile App
As part of a Keep+ R&D project between University of Greenwich and Transforming Systems, I worked on developing a high-fidelity prototype for a mobile application targeting patients with long-term illnesses.
It required execution of all phases of the UX/UI design process - from analysis to research, from ideation to wireframing concepts and creating pixel-perfect visuals to final design.
User research findings
• There are different approaches to self-management depending on treatment plan
• Information given by GP/nurse lacks the depth and details of information found online
• There is a significant lack of awareness about complications, symptoms and side-effects
The app is structured in three main parts:
• Information and guidance
User is offered information on their specific condition, with animation of the biological process and extensive list of symptoms and treatments they can track.
• Monitor and track
Dashboard of statistics based on user's input within the app over time. Choice of clean or more visual style of statistics.
• Seeking medical help
Real-time waiting & travel times of clinics closest to user's location, as well as online resources for more information about the condition and online communities.
Give it a try!
