During 2007 and 2008, Prinicpal, Michael Parnell was project manager of the Wellness Center complex at Georgian Court University, Lakewood, NJ. This $21M project included the construction of a 67,000 sf athletics building, housing the basketball arena, two dance studios, fitness center, 5 locker rooms, training room, offices, and the student bookstore. The project originally set a goal for LEED Silver, however through careful planning and management during construction, we earned enough additional points by the USGBC to achieve LEED Gold Certification.
The site work in this project included the clearing of 26 acres of wooded area, and the construction of a stormwater retention pond, 8 lane track with lacrosse field, 2 softball fields, 2 soccer fields, and a 6 court tennis center. The completion of this project was critical in the University's success in joining NCAA Division 2 athletics, and in 2012 becoming coed.
