First-year Industrial Design students were required to design a candle holder based on the principles of the designer/studio they were randomly assigned to.

I got SPACE10.

SPACE10 is Swedish 'furniture giant' IKEA's innovation lab known for their bold and radical predictions of the future.
I adopted their renowned product-hacking approach to designing things, but by repurposing found objects like 'leftover' IKEA tools.
After all, I believed the notion of upcycling is consistent with SPACE10's beliefs in a sustainable, circular society.

Meet STÅLSPINDEL, a 'hacked' candle holder composed of Allen keys and wrenches.
