I designed and directed a small team at LiquidTV to create the title sequence for the new Netflix series Sweet Magnolias.

The process we used to create these titles was a combination of illustration and 3D. By illustrating and reframing a number of shots from the show, we were then able to recreate these scenes in 3D, using a combination of UV and projection mapping. The illustrated look was painted onto 3D objects and UV maps in Photoshop, then reapplied to the 3D scenes in Cinema4D. This allowed us to bring these illustrations to life with creative camera moves and subtle hints of overlaid 2D animation.
