The "Ako si Sawi" comic was conceptualized and written by Jelaine Gan, a scientist from Raptorwatch Philippines.

An English version was also made, derived from the original that was in Tagalog or Filipino.

Raptorwatch Philippines works with communities in the country to raise awareness on migratory raptors like "Sawi", or the Grey-faced Buzzard. They travel from their breeding grounds in Japan and Northern China, all the way down to the Philippines and New Guinea to avoid the harsh winters of the north.

For further awareness raising, we developed coloring sheets for kids of all ages.
