Cómic "Inundación"
Mi tío pasó en limpio sus recuerdos de infancia en Licantén hace unos años: se sentó una tarde y comenzó a escribir sin orden más que el de su propia memoria. En ellos relataba algunos momentos que yo recordaba haber escuchado de
mi padre, y otros nuevos que me llenaban de dudas. Buscando entender este pasado ajeno, complementé estos
fragmentos con otras experiencias que fui encontrando en el proceso de creación: el relato sobre árbol que ya
no está, una caminata desde el río hacia la casona, algunas imágenes del periódico de Curicó de 1986.
Desde una búsqueda personal, este libro se volvió una forma de llegar a un pueblo olvidado. Tanto
mis familiares como sus habitantes perdieron sus fotografías personales en la inundación
del río Mataquito, donde algunos aún intentan reconstruir un Licantén que ya no existe.

My uncle passed on his childhood memories in Licantén a few years ago: he sat down one afternoon and began to write without order other than the one of
his own memory. In them he related some moments that I remembered hearing from my father, and other new ones that filled me with doubts. Seeking
to understand this foreign past, I complemented these fragments with other experiences that I found in the creation process: the story about a tree
that's not there anymore, a walk from the river to the house, some images from the Curicó's newspaper of 1986. From a personal search, this
book became a way to reach a forgotten town. My relatives as it's inhabitants lost their personal photos in the flood from the Mataquito
river, where some are still trying to rebuild a Licantén that no longer exists.
