Augment Florida Poly AR Tour

Augment Florida Poly AR Tour

The Augment Florida Poly AR Tour application was designed to express the unique technology focus of Florida Polytechnic University (Florida Poly) using augmented reality to leave a lasting first impression on guests. The project allows prospective students, their families and guests to use their mobile phones to scan a target, which will trigger information displayed in AR about the university. The user can select a tour type upon application startup, and receive different information depending on why they are at the university. The application built in Unity using Google’s AR Core, can be dynamically updated through a back-end database connected to a WAMP stack.

Take a Look at the App
The following are screen captures and videos from the app
When opening the app you'll see your taken to a menu screen with the options listed as well as help buttons and back buttons.
Our splash screen was created to be the phoenix.
Thanks to the hard work of our team, we had solved most of the challenges related to our project before COVID-19 caused our remote instruction period. Even so, we still had to adapt to working on the project from home by communicating with each other online, sharing new information and developments over the internet rather than in person. Overall the effect of the quarantine on our project has been quite minimal, whereas our personal lives were more greatly effected, leaving some of us without jobs and others having to move home with their family. With that being said, we have continued to work on our project and have completed every project requirement from home successfully.
