The movie depicted here is Big Hero 6. The bold and bright red exemplifies the super hero feeling, while the purple references loss and emotion explored in the film. These color blocks are balanced with negative space that allow the colors to breathe and give the symbol a three-dimensional quality. As a Japanese inspired movie, I felt it appropriate to incorporate ideas of balance and dynamism which can be seen in the contrasts of sharp and round shapes that freely interact.
