Schools needed a better way to collect and analyze conditions for learning and instructional rigor in their schools and classrooms. So, we built an application that could be used on a tablet or phone that allowed school leaders and consultants to answer a series of questions as they "walked" schools and classrooms. Each walk had classroom- and school-level surveys that included rubrics to help novice users understand the scoring logic. Answers from multiple walks were then tallied and used to inform the school's profile where improvement trends were charted.
