Commander Killgore and the Badger's Bluff Pub
Commander Killgore  the Cowardly Kobold is a character I developed based on my dog, Bailey. He commands a fierce and loyal army that has enjoyed many victories in battle, but still, he suffers from Imposter Syndrome. While he has never fled from a battle, he grapples with worthiness and a fear of failure, despite being loved and respected by his troops. More than anything else, he LOVES enjoying good food and drink, either alone or with friends. This first piece was done on my iPad on the way to work using the app, Procreate.
This is a long form piece depicting Killgore banishing the Kidthulu back into the Pit of Skül, using the Staff of Samus Terre. Its a visual representation of kids having to go back to school once Summer is over.
Maaaany years later, I returned to this concept. It always stayed with me and I wanted to do more with it. Using Rough Animator for iPad, I explored animating how it might look as he eats and drinks. I envisioned him in a cozy pub somewhere eating succulent meat right off the bone and drinking  mugs and mug of some kind of ale.
These studies in Tilt Brush represent the first attempt at trying to build out a face/head using a different method. Using the Unlit Hull brush, I build the head using flat, polygonal shapes, instead of using the Wire Brush, to create geometry that uses solid shapes. I learned this new method by viewing models of peoples art I really liked on Google Poly and picking them apart to see how they did it.

This is an exploration of taking static 2D art, to animated form, to 3D VR form.
