I created stickers for Ingress Mission Day in Moscow. Ingress is an AR mobile game developed by Niantic. Mission Day is a live event where many players meet and have fun. Local organizers often sell merchandise to commemorate the event, and that's what these stickers were a part of!
Process
We started from writing down all the ideas we had and choosing the best ones. For some of the sticker ideas it was very clear how to draw them, for others not so much! I also explored several color options. We chose the orange one in the end because it's a traditional color for this kind of events.

The portal in one of the designs was so cute that orga requested additional stickers with him, so I made some commonly used emoji versions of him:
Final product
As I finished the designs they were available both as physical stickers and as Telegram stickers.
"Come to Moscow and stare at your phones"
Ingress players are often made fun of because we do walk around the city staring at our phones a lot. I'm especially happy with the statue of Pushkin (a known landmark and meeting place in Moscow), staring at his phone as well.
"It's time to move!" / "Dress up and go!"
This is a common phrase in Russian Ingress gaming community, urging the players to get off their couches and go out to play.
"Itemcap again!"
Players have limited inventory in the game, so suddenly having too many items is very common during active play.
"It's time to go home... Oh! A portal!"
I based this one off of the distracted boyfriend meme, but decided to not draw the female character here - she's a player too, she wouldn't want to miss the distracting portal too.
"Hmmm, which mission is next?"
The missions (quests) are usually completed in a particular order, so sometimes when there's too many a player might be confused about which one they should start after finishing the previous one.
"How do I walk?"
AR games were not very common when Ingress launched, so some players didn't realise that they had to get out and walk to play. This question was very common for newbies and became a running joke in the community.
