Group Project with Andy Huang, Tamin Song and Jacky Zheng
The design of this Community Centre follows the principles of the Maori settlement.
The plan was based on Maori settlements docked alongside the Whau river, where the encampment created a space between them and the river, which became the communal space.
Central to our idea was the Pataka, the storage, a library where the community holds their values and tradition, and for our critique, the role of this library was the preservation of Avondale's cultural heritage and knowledge.
