PROJECT
Offstage
BACKGROUND
Esplanade is Singapore’s national performing arts centre. On their website, there was a section called LEARN which contained basic educational content about the performing arts.
The client wanted to revamp and expand this section to become the go-to online repository of information on arts and culture in Singapore: news, behind-the-scenes details, knowledge and education, in-depth studies, think-pieces - everything outside of performances on stage.
Our Experience Design team was engaged to do the main revamp and site architecture, while we provided branding support for this new Esplanade sub-brand.
SOLUTION
We worked with the client to coin a new name for this revamped section: Off-Stage.
We worked with the client to coin a new name for this revamped section: Off-Stage.
We also built Off-Stage’s own visual and verbal identity based on Esplanade’s main CI.
We designed a logo for Off-Stage which sets it apart yet ties it closely to the main Esplanade brand. This came with a set of design language and rules to ensure visual consistency.
Our copy direction for Off-Stage is, again, an offshoot of Esplanade’s copy tone - but with the freedom to be slightly more casual and laid-back. This tone was applied to all Off-Stage related parts of the site - even including some witty and charming error messages.
