SITEBEAT Beat The Ordinary

PROJECT
Beat the Ordinary

BACKGROUND
Sitebeat is a build-your-own website builder looking to break into the South-East Asian market. The problem is that the market already has a number of established global players. It needed a unique positioning in order to carve out its own niche.

SOLUTION
We worked with Sitebeat to develop a positioning which fit well with its tagline: Beat the Ordinary. It embraces Sitebeat’s own status as a scrappy challenger brand marching to its own drumbeat - and seeks to connect with like-minded individuals who possess their own unique ideas and enterprising spirits.

We based this idea around bar talk: crazy ideas which might become the next big thing if given the right attention and exposure.

The Crazy Ideas
We invented 15 out-of-this-world, share-worthy business ideas designed to appeal especially to the Philippine and Indonesia markets, these ideas include:

FitKit - Fitness gear for cats
Gamer’s University - World’s first university dedicated to gaming
Helmjab - Nanotech hijab which doubles as a helmet
Hot Lips - Spicy lipstick
IndoBlocks - Building material made from recycled, expired IndoMie noodle blocks
Nasi Padang Kayangan - The first Indonesian mixed rice restaurant in space
Shock ‘n’ Roll - Karaoke mic which punishes bad singers with electric shocks
Start-up Start-up Kit - Starter pack so aspiring entrepreneurs can look the part right from the start: a fake kit till they make it
Social Content
We posted each idea using Sitebeat’s Facebook account, as if they were Sitebeat customers running real businesses.
Individual Idea Websites
Each social post links to that business idea’s dedicated website built with Sitebeat. In addition to more product/service details, each site conveys the message that any idea (no matter how crazy) deserves to be seen by the world and to have the chance to grow. And this is easier now with Sitebeat.
Sitebeat-branded Video
For PR and event usage, we also shot a Sitebeat-branded campaign video which captures the full campaign message in a short 30-second format.
