AVT Salsalito Nachos Packaging

The Brief: Re-design the nachos packaging for a well established brand of Tex-Mex food, AVT Salsalito. The main goal of the project was to ensure that the product variants were easily distinguishable from each other as the existing pack variants all looked similar.
Design Challenge: Since AVT Salsalito has been around for years, the new packaging needed to address the problem in the current packs, while retaining some of its visual language to inspire the loyal customer base.
The Outcome: Vibrant packs with contrasting colours were created, making AVT Salsalito stand out on the shelves. Market research was done to determine the association between colour and taste in the minds of the consumer brought about by the marketing of leading domestic brands. The product shot with the ingredients placed upfront were also used prominently to help differentiate the packs from one another. The iconic Salsalito red colour was kept as a standard red band on all the packaging to give existing customers a sense of familiarity and trust.
