In 2014, I created a tool to help conduct content audits of government websites. GovCat aggregated data about a website's content, structure, and performance using a simple dashboard view that empowered content owners and stakeholders to dive deep into their content inventories and make strategic decisions about their web assets.

Audit data was stored in a MySQL database and visualized using HighCharts, DataTables, and AmCharts. We used a combination of open-source and proprietary tools to create the data. The tool was deployed on several web projects including an audit of metadata for over 14,000 PDF files for the Food and Drug Administration and a content inventory 90,000 files on a static web server at the Department of Commerce.
