Dr. Aarohi Ambardekar has served as a physician and anesthesiologist at Southern Maryland Anesthesia Associates, LLC, for more than 19 years. Beyond his work at the Lanham, Maryland-based private practice, Dr. Aarohi Ambardekar engages with several professional organizations, including the American Society of Anesthesiology and the Maryland State Anesthesiology Association.

The Maryland State Anesthesiology Association (MSA) serves as the collective voice of anesthesiologists practicing within the city of Baltimore or any of the 24 counties comprising the state of Maryland. In September, MSA hosted its 2019 annual meeting in Laurel. The meeting revolved around discussions regarding the myriad of influencing factors impacting healthcare practices throughout the state, as well as healthcare trends and events on the national stage.

Keynote speaker Dr. Andy Harris, a state congressman and anesthesiologist, along with other leaders in the field, spoke on how the MSA can continue to support safe, effective patient care throughout the region. Dr. Harris was able to provide a unique insight into these and related topics, drawing on both his medical and legislative experiences.

The 2020 MSA Annual Meeting has been scheduled for September 13, and will again be held in Laurel.
