ABOUT

Collection of my works, throughout my years as a student or for work or even my favorite personal projects — compiled as a digital portfolio.

WORKS POSTED ON TWITTER

I treat Behance as a more professional display of my works, while on Twitter I post my current work-in-progress designs, treating it more like an archive of sorts—idea being having a more personal feel to it.
My current degree works are posted on there, have a look at: twitter.com/ikhidzr

PHYSICAL PORTFOLIO '17 – '19

For my diploma years. In magazine form.
48 pages of 250gsm glossy goodness, to emulate that feel and look of a quality art magazine. A magazine of myself in a sense.

PACKAGING

Where would we be without tea?
NAME CARD

My take on a modern day Patrick Bateman's (protagonist of American Psycho, one of my favorite films) name card. Particular scene in question.

CONCEPT

Making two designs but similar in concept; just contrasting Adidas's Three Stripes and Trefoil logo.

As Adidas uses the Three Stripes mostly in modern based designs and the Trefoil for more vintage designs, I made it to reflect that. The camo reflects the vintage fashion style, while above the modern design of lines and bright colors reflect the sportier and modern nature of the brand. But on the flip-side it's the opposite — as to highlight that despite them being modern, they're still vintage... and vice versa.

POSTER DESIGN
Two of my favorite posters by me, myself & I.

Marlboro Woman

Growing up I've always seen cigarette ads before the ethical ban came into place, and studying into this I discovered the Marlboro Man advertising campaign which (supposedly) gives off this macho vibe to entice people to get Marlboro cigarettes.

But the woman version of the campaign is not remembered as well.

So I recreated that in today's female empowerment age. Instead of a man, it's a woman. And it's Cara Delevingne.

Using Art Nouveau as the main style for the poster, I tried to make it look as a vintage advert as possible with the added French and surgeon's warning, complete with the ingredients below. Just to differentiate the fact that it is a woman, and instead of macho I made it more elegant by making the hand rest out in that way.

Totenkopf Expo

I love art and also am an avid history buff. Combining that, I came up with the idea of the still-seemingly-lost WW2 plundered art being returned to its rightful owner(s), and also to hold an expo on it.

To hint it's relation to a particular WW2 NSDAP party, I used the insignia of one of the party's military regiment and not to mention, the word 'Totenkopf' literally translates to skull and bones: the main element of the poster. I also added the companies/corporations involved in the war as sponsors below, just so if the viewer still doesn't get the idea at first glance.

Using Constructivism as the main style, I also tried making it look like an underground resistance revolutionary poster... just my kinda thing.
GRAPHIC TEE

While working on designing, I either listen to metal or techno to keep my mind and my body moving.

On the left is my own personal work for my own use, while on the right is (one of) my design for a T-shirt design contest held by Amelie Lens and her Exhale team.

I like having the space available to design at the back of the T-shirt, instead of the front where it'll look awkward and typical stuff you can find everywhere. So on the front is just used for type, e.g. wordmark logo with its tagline, a hashtag related to the event, etc. Keeping it simple in the front, while making it pop at the back.

END?

For now, this is the end of my portfolio. Do check out my other projects here, or on Twitter!
