The Freelon Group served as Design Architect, along with Designand Record Architect Ellerbe Becket and Associate Architect Odell for the new TimeWarner Cable Arena in Downtown Charlotte, home of the city’s new NBA team - theCharlotte Bobcats.  The arena serves as a venue for sporting events,concerts, and community festivals.  The 800,000 square feet 18,500-seatarena includes a practice facility, three outdoor terraces, two restaurants,and a sports bar, luxury suites and corporate office space.

Freelon’s scope of work included NBA and WNBA Team Locker Rooms, PracticeCourt, Team Store and the courtside restaurant and lounge. Other areas includedthe Box Office, Bobcats corporate and administrative offices, VIP Lobbies andLounge and the Charlotte Region Visitors Authority corporate office spaces.
