Photography of Ernestine Marchetti
My Grandmother Ernestine Marchetti, "Nonna" is what we called her, was a photographer of her day. A spunky woman who took many risks in her life and and an inspiration to me. As a boy I was always fascinated with her many camera collection and her film processes from beginning to end. She was born October 2, 1907 in San Giuseppe, Italy and died in Boynton Beach Florida, 2006 at the age of 99. She left behind all her priceless negatives in many variations. Some negatives are metal. Some are B&W Kodak 120s. The young woman in all the photos is my mother Gina between ages 13 through 17 or 18.

To produce these photos I used a simple process that brought the negatives back to life. Using my Nikon DSLR, a tripod and a simple Light Box, I took photos of the negatives and then developed them using Photoshop and Lightroom.

These photos c. 1946 -1949.
