The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay’s Golf Classic
An experienced leader in investment banking and capital financing, James (Jim or Jimmy) Ahern has served as a managing partner with New York City’s Laidlaw & Company for nearly a decade. In addition to his work with Laidlaw, he sits on the board of overseers for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay (BBBSMB) Foundation. James Ahern has also served as co-chair or vice chair for multiple BBBSMB Golf Classic tournaments.
One of the most popular charity golf tournaments in New England, the BBBSMB Golf Classic has grown over the past four decades to hit maximum course capacity at multiple locations with over 400 golfing participants. The 2019 Golf Classic took place on Thursday, June 6 on three highly regarded golf courses in Plymouth, Massachusetts - the Waverly Oaks Golf Club and both the Jones Course and the Nicklaus Course at the Pinehills Golf Club.
In addition to playing for the chance to win tournament prizes, each participant received a variety of giveaway items, the chance to win prizes through a raffle, and the opportunity to bid on items at competitive silent and live auctions. Participants also enjoyed a pre-round breakfast and a post-round cocktail reception.
