The Celtic Rose; one of the earliest mandala styled pieces I have done. It's a cornerstone in my portfolio as this portfolio might not exist had I not explored the idea of doing designs like this. Learning to use the Sketchbook symmetry tool. I was able to explore and create amazing patterns very quickly.  This piece was very simple and though it did not take a lot of time to complete. This falls into the simpler is better bucket. This paved the way for giving me the confidence to do more complex patterns.
