Primrose Bliss - Forest Fairy

Primrose Bliss - Forest Fairy
a simple and elegant fairy of the forest. I love forests and fantasy and this was the second attempt and expressing my passion for both. Skin tones and shading were the real takeaways from this project. The point where it "clicked" and I had more confidence to create smooth shadings with skin tones, that ultimately set the tone of this art project.

This fairy went unnamed until my community chose the name for her. So she is extra special for this reason. This piece is also part of the Happy Little Pixels Vol. 1 coloring book which is available via Amazon

Sister fairy to Primrose Bliss
Primrose is a spiritual successor or possibly even the sister of a previous piece of artwork that i did that was similar in pose and theme. This piece was done much earlier but one can see the similarities between them.
The first attempt at drawing a forest fairy; originally she sat on a pumpkin.
Colorings & Details
Here are some zoomed in slices of the design. This design is only partially symmetrical overall. Though gear in the body area has its own individual symmetry. Each gear also has individual teeth and color schemes making the body area the most amazing part of the owl.

The eyes also are a key piece to the look of this print as they definitely capture the mechanical look and feel quite nicely.
The final product
Lots of fun colors and textures in the wings. This piece really set the stage for future projects where I could create truly unique and fun coloring book prints that could still look like actual pictures.
