Taxidermy for beginners | book

For a while I was a tourist in the beautiful city of Porto. I noticed that many buildings have special structures that support them. These buildings have only facades. Sometimes it looks like the facades could collapse without these supports. It inspired me to think about the constructions that support illusions. Illusions of any kind. I photographed these facades with supports and design a book.

Taxidermy for beginners is about structures that prevent disintegration. That is why I wanted the structure of the book to be visible and I used coptic stitching. This book contains photos of buildings and fragments of text of Vitruvius The Ten Books on Architeture. I chose fragments about building structures and harmony of proportions. At the beginning, the text looks simple and classic. But when reading, the text falls apart. Letters detaches from the grids and falls down. Letter by letter.

Taxidermy for beginners is about depression.
