There were many times I thought at the beginning:
‘This won’t work — we are from different worlds’.
But there were many times I felt a miraculous connection, like we had already been good friends for so many years.
There were times I wished:
‘Our relationship will be pure and simple’.
But there were numerous times I was disappointed and I questioned why relationships are so complicated and brittle.
There were times I affirmed to myself:
‘This person will always stay in my life and I will cherish this relationship’.
But there were times I asked myself deeply, which step was mistaken that made us walk further and further away as time went by, until finally we disappeared from each other’s life?
Humans have been social animals since the beginning of time; we can’t live without interactions.
We meet, we intertwine, and we may separate.
We become families, friends, lovers, or enemies.
We foster intimacy, love, admiration; or we become jealous, hostile, aversive.
You never know who you are going to meet;
you can’t foresee who is going to leave, and who is going to stay.
The series “Like the stars in the firmament, with ties inseparable” attempts to explore the complexity and uncertainty of human relationships in contemporary experience.
