MACAO CLASSIC BRAND
This project, which was established by the government, has a meaningful purpose. The main goal is to discover and evaluate establishments with Macao’s unique characteristics (ie. with a trade name or trademark in the Macao SAR for 40 years or above), in order to preserve and support them, helping them to develop into a brand of modern significance.
The design concept of this project was based on hand-painted commercial advertisements from the old manufacturing industry era in Macao, which was very popular and also became the representation of design and art at that time. The main feature is typographic symmetry. Commonly used Chinese female figures, advertising girls and other characters are the main characters and show the vision of good life. Therefore, the layout concept of this design is also based on the popular propaganda design style, but it is interpreted by modern design techniques. With the trend of contemporary retro, the three generations of the old, the middle-age and the young can also resonate with each other. The funny and humorous illustrated characters are like a movie, which induces the audience to carry the past and cherish antique shops with great historical value.
