In ‘St. Anger / St. Hunger’ by Alexandra Ioan, we can notice a strange three-faced
man. His expressions of disgust, anger and possibly fear are blending together into one monstrous but realistic image representing the inner struggles of a man, exteriorised into this dark image. 'St. Anger' modifies reality in an extreme manner in order to emphasise its message and create a portrait that says much more than the reality that was photographed.
*Inspired by Metallica's 'St. Anger' song from 2003 and the album cover of 'Hardwired... to Self-Destruct' (2019).
The image was produced as part of the ACI700 course of Introduction to Digital Photography at Deakin University, for which it received a High Distinction (96.67 %).
