Gezoor or Roots are the part that attach the plant to the soil and support it, and that is the same for the human body. We got to remember our roots and stop destroying them because they’re what give us life in this world.
It is a project created out from the personal experience of Nadine Garir in her realiztion of the changes in the agricultural lands of Egypt while growing up.

Gezoor is an exhibition of merged multimedia materials aims to revive the connection between the human and their origin (the land/soil).
It consists of five stages:
1st Stage: a video will be displayed as me narrating how my visit to Al Sharqiyah was like then and how it transformed over a collection of videos I recorded of the roads and rural areas of Al Sharqiyah, and on the wall will be some of my old family photos in the family house courtyard
2nd Stage: a collection of photographs showing the natural state of the rural areas, some of the photographs are direct and some are abstract with the day sound of the agricultural land.
3rd Stage: a collection of photographs showing the transformation of the rural areas with the night sound of the agricultural land.
4th Stage: projection of a wide angle view of water pump in the field with corn stalks and wheat branches in front of it with the water pump sound.
5th Stage: a collection of photographs showing the urban sprawl over the rural areas with the crowded city sound.

I decided to create a small guide for people to take at the entrance of the in- stallation that has a map to the installation and information that gives them a glimpse on the project as a whole.

FINAL LOOK
I could not put the speakers in each phase as they will overlap creating noise and not giving justice to each stage with the desired sound. Therefore, I had to replace the speakers with a phone having all the sound pieces numbered according its stage number with headphones for audience to enjoy every bit of the sound.
