For a long time I've done illustrations for the book 'Harry Potter and philosopher's stone'. I wanted to send it to Bloomsbury publishing. So, when I did first 10 illustrations I sent email and asked who I could talk with. However when they replied to me they said that they didn’t need any illustrators at that moment. I was upset. They hadn’t even had a look at my work. An artist can’t be evaluated without his works being seen. I have no longer received any replies from them. I also tried to write to them in Instagram, in Facebook (where it is written that they answer in couple of minutes) but I was ignored . In fact, I think this is a disrespectful behaviour towards a person and his works. I wouldn’t have said anything if they at least had had a look at my illustrations and then wrote a refusal letter. I would have thought that something was wrong and I had to work harder. They lost a lot because my illustrations are pretty cool.
So. If they continue ignoting me I will start sharing illustrations in my social media. And I will tell this story in every post that I will publish with my illustrations so that everyone knows the policy of this publisher. Here you can see my variations of the coats of arms of Hogwarts houses. My illustrations are more serious and more adult like anything that had been printed before. If you want to see books with my illustrations, we need to make sure that the publisher will hear about it.
