At its heart, #be is a system that lets users create their own online experience, intelligently delivering users content they want to see, based on their interests. It also features #beNetwork, a B2B offering in which content can be targeted to specific groups of users within the network. The #be system can be used by anyone from casual users who want a web experience without the filler, to hobbyists looking to share their knowledge, to researchers, corporate intranets, HR recruiters, and more.
My role
When I joined the #be team in 2014, it was still in very early stages of design and development. From the very beginning I was able to have a hand in each step of the design progress. In creating a useful and intuitive tool for both individuals and companies, we had to examine each feature of its growing system carefully: an easy-to-use CMS, a rewards system based on a digital currency (credits), a rich collection of any interest under the sun, browser extensions and mobile apps and many more.
