The AT&T net lease property spanned more than 130,000 square feet and was the home of BellSouth Telecommunications Inc., a subsidiary of AT&T. The building has served as the company’s headquarters since 1985.
The property was sold for $12 million in September 2018. The owner was represented by Mr. Barlett and his colleague John Richardson, alongside NKF Capital Markets directors Michael Lapointe and Michael Lohmann.
The buyer was attracted to the property’s location in Broward County, at the center of a dense commercial district. The buyer was also happy with the property’s strong tenant base, its proximity to major highways, and the wide array of retail offerings in the area, which include restaurants, medical clinics, a Publix, and a Walmart. The new owner plans to reposition the property to increase its value.
