The Good Side of UMM

UMM
THE GOOD SIDE
UMM is an up and coming band based in Belgium.
They fabricate a world of sound using synths beats and tickling harp notes. The tales of these microcosms are narrated by spherical voices of their excellent singers.
It was my pleasure to h-umm along and create a visual realm for their debuting album: The Good Side.
Their sensuous style was matched with a soft yet tactile quality of paint. Just as their title, the cover is hard to define: a space, a creature, a planet speaks to the imagination. Accompanied by a font borrowed from old lexicons describing concepts and odd beings The Good side is mysteriously self-contained.
The sleeve escapes to have a  ‘good side’: every part of it is a potential cover, turned up or down, read from left to right.
The character of the sleeve reflects on every element of their mini - identity.
This including their social media presence, and photographic language, created in collaboration with Babeth Albert.
