This project means a lot of things to me. It's a picture book for kids, wrote by a dear friend Matija Zmazek who had a congenital illness in his skin, Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa This illness means that the skin is so delicate as the wings of a butterfly. Matija wrote the story of this butterfly named Voljko, and even that is very autobiographical is also a beautiful story for understanding and embracing the difference. We are differents and that fact is our beauty! 

My friend died a little time after of having printed the book. He taught me during the process that the strength doesn't come from outside. The real strength comes from our heart. Looking weak doesn't mean to be weak. I feel so grateful for meeting him and collaborate in his dream for giving this message! Thank you!

Este proyecto significa muchas cosas para mí. Es un libro para niños escrito por un amigo muy querido. Matija Zmazek quien tuvo una enfermedad congénita en su piel, que se llama piel de mariposa. Matija escribió este cuento acerca de una mariposa llamada Voljiko, y aunque es muy autobiográfico, es una historia para comprender y abrazar la diferencia. Somos diferentes y en eso radica nuestra belleza.

Mi amigo Matija falleció un poco después de haber terminado el libro. Me enseñó mucho durante el proceso, que la fuerza no viene de afuera sino de adentro. La verdadera fuerza viene del corazón. Parecer débil no significa ser débil. Me siento eternamente agradecida por haberlo conocido y por colaborar en este sueño de dar su mensaje. Gracias!
