Trimb Enters into Exclusive Licensing Deal

Private equity professional Thompson Dean is Co-CEO of New York City-based Avista Capital Partners. Thompson Dean helps manage the firm’s investments in healthcare markets, where it maintains a strong portfolio.

One piece of that portfolio is Trimb Healthcare, a company that develops and markets over-the-counter pharmaceuticals and consumer healthcare products in Europe. In February 2019, Trimb announced it had closed an exclusive licensing agreement with Teva, another healthcare company, for consumer OTC brands including Flux, a leading fluoride rinse, and Decubal, a popular product for dry and sensitive skin. Other brands included in the agreement were Apobase, Lactocare, Dailycare, and Fludent.

To complement the licensing agreement, Teva’s sales and marketing team will join Trimb, bolstering its network in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. Trimb CEO Magnus Nylen termed the deal a unique opportunity to add well-known products to the company’s portfolio. He further stated that the deal will expand the company’s market penetration in Europe.
