Roll Play - An Improvised Adventure

A Favor Requested
A band of nerdy improvisers come together to tell stories that have never been told before, nor will be told again, using Dungeons & Dragons as a foundation.
I was tasked, by our director, to create a logo for the hour-long, improvised live comedy show and ended up creating much more.
An Icon Forged
With the logos I wanted to promote a certain sense of whimsey, that I achieved with the illustrated dragon talons. I couldn't just create one blanket logo though. I needed to make sure that we had a comprehensive set of logos that could fit into any space, thus I created a horizontal, stacked and simplified version of our logo as well. To date we have sold hundreds of t-shirts with our logo on them, which, for an improv group, is moderately impressive.
A Lesson Learned
While the group was thrilled with the result of our photoshoot and first set of promotional materials, we found out that many fans and potential viewers couldn't glean from our poster that we were a comedy show. Choosing different photos for each of the party I changed the tenor of the ads to provide more a more comedic effect. This resulted in higher sales in our second run and fewer confused comments on our social media posts.
