His Hands Church's profile

Transitional Housing through CFVC

Located in Woodstock, Georgia, His Hands Church believes that all people are created in the image of God and that the Bible provides instructions for living according to the teachings of Jesus. As part of its effort to bring God's love to all in the local community, His Hands Church supports organizations such as the Cherokee Family Violence Center (CFVC).

Established in 1985 to offer safe shelter to people who have experienced domestic violence, the CFVC seeks to encourage good relationships between partners and end violence at home. The organization's support services include its Transitional Housing Program.

Created as a safe space for those fleeing situations of domestic violence, the apartment complex belonging to CFVC's Transitional Housing Program offers income-based residence for up to three years. Families can live in one of 72 two- to four-bedroom apartments. Although unfurnished, the apartments include amenities such as a dishwasher, stove, refrigerator, and washer and dryer.

Gated for safety, the apartment complex has a shared playground and swimming pool. It also provides a diverse range of support services to assist residents throughout their time in the program.
