Remote Play Devices for Teenagers
A project for Marvel Tech. USA
Overview: To design a remote play device for teenagers using the electronic chip developed by Marvel Tech. that can interact with other similar chips within a certain range of distance. (The project was done in a group with 3 other designers.)

The process included conceptualizing remote play devices after user survey of more than 50 teenagers from 3 different divisions i.e. privileged class, middle-class and under-privileged class, creating mappings of user-universe, social-cognitive-physical factors, for design opportunities, affinity mappings. Finally developed 3 conceptual devices, out of which one is prototyped, called the “Scribbler”, designed based on the primary action of doodling, through which one can send messages and play games remotely.

My Role:
- UED process: User research and mappings, personas and scenarios, final product ideations
- Product for explorations for the 3 final products - Hi-fi prototyping
User Studies were done across three economic segments: The Under-served, Middle Class and Privileged class, which finally led us to create mappings and design three different products using the remote chip-set technology
User 1 - Teenagers in the undeserved category
User 2 - Teenagers in the Middle income group
User study video at Kendriya Vidhyalaya, Powai, Mumbai
User 3 - Teenagers of the economically Privileged class
Mind Maps and Affinity maps based on the user interviews:
