Peregrinos
Peregrinos (Pilgrims) is a schoolbook collection on christianity for kids.
As Art director in Edelvives I guided the team to develop an aesthetics and design system for a collection that wants to voice approachable contemplation and wisdom, a friendly guide.
This called for a style that feels relatable and aspirational to both the kids and their teachers. Cheerful, delicate, mature.
The branding and design system also needed to be production oriented in a way that is scalable, diverse, and dynamic.

A multi-layered identity
There are multiple sub systems of iconic elements that compound into a narrative: the path towards the discovery of faith, or growing the bond with the divine.
Representing bonds thorugh ropes, lassos and strokes, as they sophisticate, and growth through the sprout, flower and fruit of the sacred olive tree.

Final thoughts
–There was no precedent in the industry of this kind of graphic treatment for the subject.
–As of 2018, the collection is the most popular of the sector, with several reprints.
–I’m an atheist, so this has been one of the most challenging themes I’ve worked on.
–It was my first work directed at schools and children.
–First time working with illustrators, a calligrapher, and coordinating a team.
