This was done for a Spring 2018 Illustration class. The assignment focused on creating an editorial illustration based off an article that was provided to us. Below is the process. I started off with thumbnail sketches and chose my favorite one and added light value tones. Once I had an idea for my illustration I developed a drawing that created more visual interest but still based on my original concept, then moved on to color studies. The process is similar to my Bug Orchestra illustration, where I finally ended with ink, watercolor, and a tad bit of Photoshop.
