Society for Pediatric Research Advances Children’s

With some 20 years of experience serving in academic and leadership positions, Dr. Ramesh Sachdeva is the associate executive director of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Ramesh Sachdeva augments his professional expertise with membership in the Society for Pediatric Research (SPR).

Some 4,000 members strong, SPR advocates for new policies regarding children’s health, honors and develops physician-scientists, and recognizes leaders in the field.

Members can gain valuable experience by moderating convention sessions, reviewing abstracts, and making proposals for special interest groups and workshops. Other benefits include access to the SPR directory and other online tools, and the Pediatric Research journal.

The society offers five categories of membership. Active members are those independent pediatric researchers under 55. Junior members can be fellows or faculty with less than three years’ experience after their fellowship. Senior members still qualify for active membership between ages 55 and 65. Doctors older than 65 are eligible for emeritus membership.

Finally, affiliate members can join SPR through their connection to other organizations, such as the European Society for Paediatric Research and the Asian Society for Pediatric Research.
