"Autoritratto, 2018" a picture book about me and the painter Giorgio Morandi.

Hi! I'm Federica Aglietti, a young Italian illustrator. I want to tell you the story about the realitazion of my picturebook "Autoritratto, 2018". Everything have started in Bologna (Italy) when I met for the first time the paintings of Giorgio Morandi. They were not just bottles to me, but they were showing me the complete history of man, as people telling me about him. Hence, I decided to start studying Morandi and his art trought which it would have been possible to understand myself, too.

I dreamed about Giorgio Morandi. He told me "I am searching you to tell you to not deal with me anymore". I got him angry, I have to talk to him. So I tryed to speak with him in my picturebook "Autoritratto, 2018".

At the beginning of the story there is an angry Giorgio Morandi who does not want to have nothing to deal with me. He Turns his head when I arrive without neither saying "Hello!" to me. At some point, he decides to ask me if I'm ok, but I know, we're two hot heads and it takes a bit 'to figure out if we can trust each other.

When I was attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, where later I graduated, I was used to work on the original press of giorgiomorandi. While you are using it you can't never be certain of what you are doing. It's like having Morandi looking at you badly when you are working on it, I think he could get angry because he does not want to see "the girl who uses in a wrong way his press".
