Title Sequence
For my title sequence assignment, I chose the Disney-Pixar animated film “Wall-E”.
For my sequence I wanted to establish the two-main location, “space” and “earth”.
The movie shows how earth is inhabitable, and the solution to it is to live in space. So, my color gradation of the slides would go from cold black to warm yellow.
I start the sequence from space with one source of light, in the second frame the earth gives a balance of warm compared to the dark cold space. The last frame is inside the earth, the yellow atmosphere covers most of the frame, the sides of the frame have darker color to keep the continuity of the overall color transition.
I didn’t use any shape, I used basic elements from the movie itself, like in the first slide we can see the universe, as the movie is based on the outer space. In the second slide I showed the earth and the plant floating in the space, I chose it specifically because this object is the key for the movie’s plot. In the third last frame I show simple colored shapes of the building shaped trash that was made by ‘wall-e’. I also include wall-e in the scene as he is the main character of the movie.
My composition follows the rule of third and golden ratio, mostly. I always include an intense source of light somewhere in the frame and the flare acts as a gradation also gives  me the freedom to place other objects near the flares, maintaining the continuity of the different frames.
