Hiccups/ A tribute to Kate Gibb

When I analyzed the screen prints and risoprints from Kate Gibb there were 3 things that caught my eye: shapes, colors and layers. So I decided to do something with this. I linked the layers of her work to the layers that made me who I am now, as a graphic designer to become. Where Kate Gibb places her forms with chance, I put them very well thought out. I investigated the meanings that forms and colors could carry with them and used them in my work. There are 8 creative phases that have made me who I am today. Each phase is represented by a shape and a color. They are each printed on a lime paper, with the most recent phase at the top. That is how I created a composition that represents my own graphic evolution.

Thank you!
