More and more Millennials get distracted by their phones while commuting. Some do it while walking, some while driving, and others in public transport. No matter the way of transportation they use, all of them face real dangers.
During an 11-week Design Thinking program, together with my team, we've taken the challenge to find a creative way of finding an answer to the following question:
How might we inspire avid smartphone users to be more aware of the surroundings while using their smartphones?
Following an extensive research in the subject and an online survey, we were ready to come up with a solution.
The LOOKAROUND app aims at increasing the safety level of its user by proposing interactive exercises with its surrounding: an augmented reality game leads the user to take a moment and look around in order to find his reward.
The LOOKAROUND app offers an integrative solution for todays’ social alienation and physical absent-mindedness of our younger generation by inspiring them to engage and combine on-screen time with acknowledging their surroundings.
The FRIENDAROUND option provides a safe platform for all users in the same proximity to chat and exchange tips. The App offers the option of blast messaging in the event of a dangerous situation that requires informing people in that area.
