Orchids is not what it seems like. For the first sight Orchids is a usual, old-fashioned handbook about the sorts and care of orchids. Closely observed one discovers a completely different content. Compilation of texts, interviews, imagery, and everything connected to the 5th seasonal exhibition of a New York based gallery, The Artist’s Institute parasites the old book.
Just as elegantly and aggressively as orchids do.
The design process happened all the way around as well: the given layout of the original book had to be filled in on the subtlest possible way.
