The theme of my animation is curiosity. The story follows the young character Lily, as she navigates her way into the vast Victorian library full of magical and mysterious stories. However, all is not what it seems.

The approach for creating Curiosity was done using frame by frame digital animation techniques. A combination of digital drawings and digitally coloured backgrounds. For the style of the backgrounds and characters, the intention was to use an Autumn colour palette with harsh sketch-like lines to convey a sense of warmth. The character Lily, in contrast, uses a neutral palette with simple solid colours bringing her clearly into focus within the detailed backgrounds.
